Since 1994, Douglas County Sports Medicine has been a regional innovator in Producing quality programs and service to West Central Minnesota. Our S.W.E.A.T. program has been around since 2000. S.W.E.A.T. incorporates SPORTSMETRICS (click for more info), a scientifically proven program designed by Cincinnati Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center that can reduce your risk of knee injury AND increase jump power while improving leg strength. Each person in the program is trained as multisport athlete regardless of their abilities. Then as individuals improve athletically, the overall athletic program of each participating school is going to reap the benefits of having more athletic and confident athletes.

IN THE NEWS Research on the incidence of knee injuries to those who had participated in the S.W.E.A.T. program was presented at the Minnesota Orthopaedic Societies state meeting in 2010. We concluded that 1 out of 135 S.W.E.A.T. participants over the past three years had suffered a significant knee injury. That is equivalent to .7% rate of injury our trained athletes. |
