Jen Gannon graduated magna cum laude from Winona State University in 2005 after which she obtained her board certification as an athletic trainer (A.T.C.).  She provided athletic training services consisting of injury evaluation, rehabilitation, prevention, and emergency field care.  While at Winona State she served two years as a Student Senator to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association.  Her education continued, earning a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from St. Cloud State University.  While completing her thesis she closely studied the effects gender has on muscle recruitment.

While at St. Cloud State she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer providing athletic training coverage primarily to the women’s volleyball team and men’s and women’s track and field teams.  While completing her degree, Jen also worked for an area

orthopedic clinic providing athletic training services for high school and community college sporting events as well as youth hockey tournaments in the St. Cloud area.

In 2007 Jen joined our staff providing athletic event coverage for area high schools.  She works closely with each school’s athletic trainer to provide the best care for each athlete.  While she mostly provides on-site injury evaluation and emergent care, she also excels in rehabilitation and prevention.  She communicates with athletes, coaches, parents, and physicians to ensure each athlete receives proper care to aid in the best outcome.

Jen’s skills reach far beyond her athletic training outreach duties.  In the clinic she serves as a physician extender, where she works closely with Dr. Tom Dudley.  This has allowed her to expand her knowledge of evaluation techniques, surgical procedures, and postsurgical care.  Additional clinic responsibilities include casting, splinting, bracing, phone triage, and postoperative visits.

Jen’s certifications include: Certified Athletic Trainer, Orthopedic Technologist Certified, and American Red Cross Professional Rescuer.  Jen currently serves on the Public Relations Committee for the Minnesota Athletic Trainers’ Association.
